Resonance

2024, year of the Wood Dragon, is upon us and plans are afoot for this year’s Wasinga. There’s 3 of us steering the ship – Georgia, George and Duncan. This Year’s theme is Resonance. 

We all know Wasinga is a place where we fit, where we feel comfortable, where we swim in a sea of familiarity, where we’ve been challenged and where we’ve grown, and can celebrate our unique Resonance. But maybe we’re all a bit too used to “how it is”. The world is changing, we are changing – maybe It’s time to shake the tree a little?

We love Wasinga and want to rekindle all the sparks from the last 12 years and ignite a new initiation of the Wasinga tribe. So we’re reaching out to all Wasingi for feedback about the frequencies that need amplifying, which new sounds we can add to the composition and maybe which old melodies need remixing!

Resonance occurs when two things meet and match in vibration resulting in a greater amplitude. A multiplication of energy. For Wasinga this means collective Resonance with the elements – the land, the fire, the song, the silence, the dance…. and each other.

Our hope is that through this magical process of Wasinga our group Resonance continues to be a resource for us all. 

Resonance with Medicine festival and Wasinga is also an important factor this year. Back in the day we sometimes had a small medicine ceremony before Wasinga began – to connect with the land and call-in and honour the spirits of the land. This year Wasinga will be a supportive role for the Medicine festival that will follow 2 weeks after us – and we want Wasinga to be the ceremony. Honouring and celebrating community, family, peace, hilarity, growth and change – the shared liminal space we inhabit, and are being called to re-adapt and re-dream into…

Our collective energy is everything – through the use of open mic and conducted group sessions of songs, rhythms, dancing and acting – a truly co-creative explosive Ceremony and group initiation.

We are a tribe growing up together.  We may gather once a year but thats not the end of it – so please make contact, suggest your suggestions! Let’s build this year’s gathering together. We all need this! Resonating with the micro and macro, the world needs this!
