COLLECTIVE PRESENCE
6-12 August 2018
In August 2018 we returned to the forest, re-energised, recharged and on course to deepen and strengthen our connections.
The individuals that came together to create Wasinga brought together a whole universe of possibilities. We co-created an experience that transformed our personal stories into shared collective experience. Through our connection we used this opportunity to strengthen the way in which we interact and impact the world we are part of in these challenging times.
This year COLLECTIVE PRESENCE was chosen as our theme.
This was offered as way of crystallising what our community has already manifested over the past six years as we have gathered together both in the woods and in our daily lives.
This year we invited you to take part in an initiation into Collective Presence.
The word collective is intended to encapsulate the consciousness of a group of beings coming together to move as one. Like a flock of birds, a forest, a community of people or our planet. Even our own consciousness is formed from a collective of cells and organs. Our psyche is also formed of different archetypes – voices of our ancestors, parents, family and society.
What is meant by presence? This word is offered to encapsulate what it is to be in the moment. To be with what is manifesting in the inner world and the outer world without judgement. Engaging equanimity to the sensations, feelings and emotions that arise within us and our community.
When we combine these worlds, what is invoked is a presence within the individual that extends out into the living energies that surrounds us. Our aim in this year’s Wasinga was to explore a strengthening of what it takes to be in flow with ourselves, the environment we are a part of, and our wider contribution to society. Looking at what disconnects us from ourselves and each other, then looking at what connects us to ourselves and each other. Reinforcing the vessel that holds both connection and disconnection. Celebrating the dance of life!
